Gleiss Lutz advised LichtBlick eMobility GmbH ("LichtBlick eMobility"), a provider of charging solutions for electric vehicles, on the acquisition of the business customer division of Mer Germany GmbH ("Mer Germany"), a leading provider and operator of charging infrastructure in Germany.
LichtBlick eMobility is part of the LichtBlick Group, Germany's largest independent provider of green electricity and green gas. The company develops and operates intelligent charging and energy solutions for private and commercial customers, with a focus on the electrification of corporate fleets.
Mer Germany is part of the Mer Group, which belongs to the Norwegian energy group Statkraft. The Mer Group operates a public charging network with more than 36,200 charging stations and provides access to over 780,000 charging points across Europe.
With this transaction, LichtBlick eMobility expands its offering for commercial customers in the area of charging infrastructure, acquiring not only a broad portfolio of solutions but also approximately 7,000 charging points in Germany.
The transaction remains subject to merger control clearance by the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt). Completion is expected to take place on 1 October 2026.
