Gleiss Lutz has advised TRUMPF SE + Co. KG (TRUMPF) on the sale of its Photonic Components business unit by way of several partial disposals. Most of the assets in Ulm and Eindhoven, the Netherlands, including a large part of the VCSEL production, were acquired by an U.S. buyer, while other business activities in the Photonic Components division went to an acquirer in Taiwan and another U.S. acquirer.
TRUMPF, headquartered in Ditzingen, Germany, is one of the world’s leading companies for machine tools, lasers, and electronics for industrial applications. In the 2024/25 financial year, the company generated sales of EUR 4.3 billion with around 18,000 employees. With the sale, TRUMPF is continuing the Group's strategy of focusing more strongly on its core industrial business.
