Gleiss Lutz has advised MEGGLE Holding SE on its acquisition of the Rücker dairy, which operates locations in Aurich and Wismar.
This move will create one of the largest private dairies in Germany. With this step, MEGGLE is emphasising the importance of the cheese segment, driving its expansion forward, and aligning itself with its growing organisational structure through the adoption of the SE legal form.
The transaction is subject to approval by the competition authorities.
With around 600 employees at its Aurich and Wismar locations, Rücker processes roughly 800 million kilograms of milk each year, making it one of the largest family dairies in Germany. The company generated revenues of around EUR 500 million in 2024.
The MEGGLE Group produces butter and butter specialties, fresh dairy products along the entire white dairy line, filled baked goods for wholesale and end consumers as well as high-quality hard and semi-hard cheese. It is represented in 19 countries with 21 operating companies and one representative office. MEGGLE Holding SE as the umbrella company is based in Wasserburg am Inn in Upper Bavaria. With around 2,600 employees, the Group generated sales of approx. EUR 1.4 billion in 2024.
