Gleiss Lutz advises Ströer on acquisition of the Avedo Group

Gleiss Lutz has advised the Ströer Group, one of Germany’s leading multi-channel media companies, on its acquisition of 75 percent of shares in the Avedo Group. The transaction is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

By acquiring the performance-oriented dialogue marketing specialist, Ströer has added an additional marketing channel to its portfolio. Whereas Ströer’s engagement in the performance marketing business focuses on the online, display and e-mail channels, Avedo primarily employs chat and telephone channels to market third-party products.

The Ströer Group is one of Europe’s largest providers of out-of-home media and online advertising and has a workforce of approx. 4,600 staff.

The Avedo Group focuses on telesales and dialogue marketing. With its double-digit annual growth rate, Avedo is one of the fastest growing providers in the industry. It employs some 1,850 employees at six different locations in Germany. The previous management team headed by founder and CEO Torsten Krause will continue holding a significant stake in the company and lead Avedo’s operating business moving forward.
