On 5 May 2026, UniCredit submitted a public takeover bid for the acquisition of all shares in Commerzbank. The offer is structured as a share exchange offer, with the consideration consisting exclusively of newly issued UniCredit shares. The acceptance period runs until 16 June 2026.
