Gleiss Lutz has advised the Spanish listed technology company Amper, S.A. ("Amper") on the acquisition of assets and technological capabilities of the insolvent FREQCON GmbH ("Freqcon"), a manufacturer of energy storage technologies.
Amper is a leading company in the fields of dual-use technologies, strategic industrial solutions and engineering services for the defense and national security as well as energy and sustainability markets.
The acquisition strengthens Amper's growth strategy in the field of energy management and energy storage through the integration of various technological, industrial and commercial capabilities.
Freqcon, headquartered in Rethem, Germany, produces innovative solutions in the field of frequency converters, energy storage systems and ultracapacitors. The company is currently undergoing a restructuring in an insolvency proceeding in self-administration.
