Marcel completed his law studies at Goethe-University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany (Dr. jur.) and at Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia, USA (LL.M.). He has been with Gleiss Lutz since 2022. In 2025 he worked at the Gleiss Lutz office in London, UK. Before joining Gleiss Lutz, he worked at Goethe-University at the chairs for for Civil Law, Civil Procedure Law, International Private Law and Comparative Law as well as for Public Law and Comparative Law. Also, he held various academic courses (especially in the Law of Contracts and Contractual Obligations). He completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court (Oberlandesgericht) of Frankfurt am Main with stations at a leading international law firm in Frankfurt am Main and at the Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht) in Karlsruhe. In his comparative law dissertation on English law, he dealt with core issues of the general legal transaction doctrine, in particular the scope of interpretation, rescission and rectification.
