Leonhard advises on national and international tax law, with a particular focus on transaction-related tax matters. His practice encompasses advising M&A transactions, restructurings of destressed companies and real estate transactions as well as large-scale intra-group reorganizations.
From July 2025 to February 2026 on secondment with Ropes & Gray in New York.
Leonhard studied law at the universities of Heidelberg and Montpellier. Following his studies, he worked as a research associate at the Institute of Public Finance and Tax Law at the University of Heidelberg and as a visiting lecturer at the FLD Paris. Subsequently, he completed his legal clerkship in Frankfurt and New York. Leonhard has been practicing as an attorney at Gleiss Lutz since 2018 and has been admitted as a certified tax advisor since 2022. He also serves as a lecturer at the universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim.
Leonhard is fluent in German and English.
