Gleiss Lutz advises Garmin on its acquisition of Navigon

Gleiss Lutz advised Garmin Ltd., a leading provider of mobile navigation solutions, on its acquisition of Navigon AG. In the future Navigon will operate as a subsidiary of US competitor Garmin.

Previously, 90 percent of Navigon was owned by the financial investor General Atlantic Partners. With its headquarters in Hamburg, Navigon has offices in Europe, Asia and North America.

The takeover is still subject to approval by the cartel authorities. The financial terms and conditions of the transaction are confidential.
