Gleiss Lutz advises Paracelsus-Kliniken on restructuring

Gleiss Lutz has provided legal and tax advice to Paracelsus-Kliniken on comprehensive restructuring and refinancing that saw its rehabilitation clinics separated from its acute care clinics unit and transferred into a sister structure beneath a new rehabilitation holding. The group also obtained refinancing via a long-term syndicated loan to strengthen its companies’ financial position. The rehabilitation clinics’ transfer to an independent rehabilitation unit means that there are now two divisions of clinics under the continued ownership of Porterhouse Group AG. The new structure and financing will enable Paracelsus-Kliniken to tap new potential and realise new concepts that are important to the long-term stability and continued success of the Paracelsus health family.

Paracelsus-Kliniken was advised by the following team: Dr. Patrick Kaffiné (partner, M&A, lead), Dr. Stefan Mayer (partner, Tax), Dr. Burkhard Jäkel (partner, Project Financing, all Frankfurt), Dr. Reimar Buchner (partner, Healthcare, Berlin), Dr. Wolfgang Bosch (partner, Competition/Antitrust), Dr. Thomas Winzer (partner, Employment), Dr. Michael Ilter (M&A/Private Equity, both Frankfurt), Dr. Leonard Kornwachs (Tax), Dr. Tobias Abend (counsel, Employment), Dr. Maximilian Hirsch (Corporate), Andrej Popp (M&A/Private Equity), Dr. Konrad Discher (counsel, Real Estate), Vanessa Bayliss (project financing), Dr. Birgit Colbus (counsel, Competition/Antitrust, all Frankfurt), Dr. Matthias Werner (counsel, IP/IT, Munich).
