Gleiss Lutz advises Rheinmetall on the sale of its division Power Systems to AEQUITA

Gleiss Lutz has advised the technology group Rheinmetall on the sale of its Power Systems division to AEQUITA. With this sale, Rheinmetall is divesting itself of a large portion of its civilian operations and focusing on business with military customers and security agencies.

The Power Systems division employs approximately 6,250 people worldwide and generated revenue of approximately EUR 2 billion in fiscal year 2025. The transaction, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, is still subject to approval by the relevant regulatory authorities. The preliminary purchase price is EUR 350 million.

Gleiss Lutz has previously advised Rheinmetall on the sale of its piston business. In 2022, the Swedish group Koncentra Verkstads AB acquired the large-bore piston business, and in 2023, the small-bore piston business was sold to Comitans Capital AG.
