Gleiss Lutz appoints three new partners and five counsel

With effect from 1 January 2014, Gleiss Lutz has named three new partners: Jens Günther (employment, Munich), David Quinke (dispute resolution, Düsseldorf) and Vera Rothenburg (corporate, Stuttgart). In addition, Tobias Falkner (restructuring, Munich), Jana Glock (corporate, Stuttgart), Cindy Lahusen (tax, Stuttgart), Alexander Molle (IP/IT, Berlin) and Bernd Zimmermann (real estate and product liability, Berlin) have been appointed as counsel.  

This puts the number of partners at 88 as of 1 January, 2014. Rainer Loges, Managing Partner at Gleiss Lutz said: “With their expertise, dedication and commitment, our new partners will be a major asset to the firm in key legal areas.”  

Jens Günther advises clients on employment law-related issues, with a special focus on company restructurings as well as works constitution and collective bargaining matters. For example, he assisted Demag Cranes in various restructurings, and Hogg Robinson in connection with disputes regarding its group-wide works council structure. He also regularly represents clients in court and advises companies in connection with the conclusion or termination of service contracts with executive board members and managing directors. Jens Günther helped establish Gleiss Lutz’s Düsseldorf office and joined the firm’s Munich employment law team in early 2013.  

David Quinke advises and represents clients in complex court and arbitral disputes. He specialises in corporate law and capital markets as well as post-M&A litigation. Most recently he defended Infineon Technologies against claims of the insolvency administrator of Qimonda.  

Vera Rothenburg advises clients on all aspects of corporate law. She focuses on stock corporation law, reorganisations and corporate group law as well as compliance issues. Most recently, she advised LEG Immobilien AG on its IPO, one of the largest of its kind in Germany in the past few years.  

Tobias Falkner advises domestic and international clients on restructuring and insolvency. He has special expertise in distressed M&A transactions, and was recently part of a Gleiss Lutz team that advised German DIY chain Praktiker in connection with the groups’ insolvency.  

Jana Glock advises German and international clients on a wide range of corporate law matters, including corporate litigation (especially appraisal proceedings) and M&A. In 2013 she was involved in projects for voestalpine Edelstahl, among other things.  

Cindy Lahusen advises on national and international tax and accounting law. She specialises in advising on the tax aspects of acquisitions (M&A), reorganisations and restructurings of financially distressed companies. She also counsels clients in connection with compliance-related accounting and tax matters. Most recently she advised Bosch on the sale of its Rexroth Pneumatics division to financial investor Triton.  

Alexander Molle advises on trademarks, copyrights and unfair competition. He also has extensive expertise in IT law, particularly in connection with M&A transactions, transitional services and carve-outs, drafting and negotiating complex IT agreements, e-commerce and internet law issues as well as IT-related litigation. He was part of the team that advised Kion on the investment by Chinese conglomerate Shandong Heavy Industry in the German forklift manufacturer’s subsidiary Linde Material Handling.  

Bernd Zimmermann advises clients on contract law and liability-related matters. This includes advising on contractual issues in connection with domestic and international real estate transactions, as well as product and D&O liability. He regularly advises and represents clients in complex disputes in this area.    

Dr. Jana Glock berät deutsche und internationale Mandanten in allen gesellschaftsrechtlichen Fragen, insbesondere bei Rechtsstreitigkeiten mit gesellschaftsrechtlichem Schwerpunkt (vor allem Spruchverfahren). Sie war 2013 unter anderem in Projekten der voestalpine Edelstahl tätig.

Dr. Cindy Lahusen berät im nationalen und internationalen Steuer- und Bilanzrecht. Dabei ist sie auf die steuerliche Beratung von Unternehmenskäufen (M&A), Umstrukturierungen und Restrukturierungen von finanziell angeschlagenen Unternehmen spezialisiert. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ihrer Tätigkeit liegt in der Beratung zu bilanziellen und steuerlichen Fragen im Bereich Compliance. Zuletzt beriet sie etwa die Bosch-Gruppe bei der Veräußerung der Rexroth Pneumatics Sparte an den Finanzinvestor Triton.

Dr. Alexander Molle berät im Marken-, Urheber- und Wettbewerbsrecht. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeit liegt im IT-Recht, insbesondere bei M&A-Transaktionen, Transitional Services und Carve-Outs, der Gestaltung und Verhandlung von komplexen IT-Verträgen, Fragen des E-Commerce und Internetrechts sowie IT-Prozessen. Er beriet unter anderem Kion bei der Beteiligung des chinesischen Mischkonzerns Shandong Heavy Industry am Geschäftsbereich Hydraulik der Kion-Tochter Linde Material Handling.

Dr. Bernd Zimmermann berät Mandanten im Vertrags- und Haftungsrecht. Dies umfasst zum einen die Beratung zu Vertragsfragen bei nationalen und internationalen Immobilientransaktionen, zum anderen den Bereich Produkt- und Organhaftung. Hier berät und vertritt Bernd Zimmermann regelmäßig Mandanten in komplexen Streitigkeiten.
