Awards for Gleiss Lutz: 2018 European Women in Business Law Award and Law Firm of the Year for Competition/Antitrust from Best Lawyers

At this year’s Europe Women in Business Law Awards, the “Best firm in Germany” accolade awarded by the Euromoney Legal Media Group went to Gleiss Lutz for the second year running. Gleiss Lutz launched its “Women in Business” initiative at the start of 2013, with a three-pillar approach aimed at female law students, female lawyers already at Gleiss Lutz and female clients. With this initiative, the firm specifically promotes the advancement of promising young female lawyers and supports them in creating and expanding professional and personal networks.

“We are proud of this recognition for our commitment,” commented Dr. Petra Linsmeier, to which co-managing partner Prof. Dr. Michael Arnold, who collected the prize together with her, added: “Being given this award for a second time shows that we are on the right track with our strategy of promoting and insisting on diversity as an important element of our corporate culture.”

The Gleiss Lutz competition/antitrust practice also received an award: In the most recent issue of Best Lawyers rankings, published on 22 June 2018 in cooperation with Handelsblatt, Gleiss Lutz was awarded the title of “Law Firm of the Year” for competition/antitrust. Every year US publishing house Best Lawyers ranks Germany’s most highly renowned lawyers exclusively for Handelsblatt. The rankings are based on an extensive peer-to-peer survey conducted solely among lawyers who are asked to rate their competitors’ reputations.

In addition to the award, the rankings included a total of 161 recommendations (2017: 145) for Gleiss Lutz lawyers in 37 areas of the law, including corporate, mergers & acquisitions, employment and labour, competition/antitrust, public law, litigation, (international) arbitration, private equity, finance, banking law, real estate, intellectual property, tax, healthcare, insurance, environment and IT.
