Marc advises on public commercial law, in particular on issues of administrative law, constitutional law, European law, public liability, energy, automotive & mobility and other regulated industries. Another focus of his advice is on product liability and product safety law, all aspects of product compliance including current developments such as connectivity, data protection and artificial intelligence as well as sustainability transformation. Another focus advising on supply chain and ESG/CSR compliance. He is Head of the Public Law Practice Group and Co-Head of the ESG Practice and the Automotive & Mobility Industry Group.

Vita

Marc studied at the universities of Würzburg and Cologne (Dr. iur. 2011). He has been with Gleiss Lutz since 2010. Marc's dissertation entitled “The Admissibility of Contractual Penalty Clauses in Urban Development Contracts in Connection with Large-Scale Retail Projects” was awarded the 2012 Doctoral Prize by the University of Cologne. He was awarded a scholarship by the German National Academic Foundation (2002 to 2007). In 2007 he was awarded the Wolfgang Kuhlen Prize by the Dr. Otto Schäfer Foundation. In 2016, he worked for a leading Canadian law firm in Toronto. He is a member of the Society for Environmental Law (GfU), the German-Canadian Association (DKG) and of the German Bar Association’s Administrative Law Working Group (DAV). He is also a board member of the German branch of the International Nuclear Law Association (INLA). Regularly, he gives specialist lectures and is the author of numerous publications. Marc speaks German and English.
