Gleiss Lutz advises the supervisory boards of Volkswagen AG and Audi AG in connection with the settlement agreements in the US

Volkswagen AG has agreed with the US government to resolve criminal and federal environmental and other civil claims against the company relating to the diesel matter. As part of the resolution, Volkswagen has agreed to pay penalties and fines totalling USD 4.3 billion and to a series of measures to further strengthen its compliance and control systems, including the appointment of an independent monitor for a period of three years.

Gleiss Lutz extensively advised the supervisory boards of Volkswagen AG and Audi AG in this regard. Gleiss Lutz has been assisting Volkswagen AG’s supervisory board in dealing with the diesel matter and all related legal questions since the beginning of 2016.
