At the 2015 Juve Awards ceremony Gleiss Lutz was awarded the title of Law Firm of the Year for Healthcare. The German legal directory thus recognises the strong development of Gleiss Lutz’s Healthcare & Life Sciences focus group.
The focus group combines industry-specific expertise and knowledge of specialists from a wide range of legal fields. In addition to its core competencies in medical and healthcare law, in particular pharmaceuticals and medicinal products, hospital and physician law and patents, it also covers IP, public procurement and competition/antitrust law as well as compliance and protection of healthcare data.
Its involvement in numerous key healthcare industry mandates over the past year has helped the practice retain its status as one of the market leaders. It is regularly involved in current legislative procedures in the healthcare sector, acting for statutory health insurance funds and associations among others. Moreover, Gleiss Lutz successfully represents major pharmaceutical and medicinal products manufacturers in patent-related disputes. The firm increasingly plays a leading role in assisting clients with complex healthcare sector transactions.

In selecting the award winners, Juve based its decision above all on surveys of clients and competitors. Apart from outstanding expertise, criteria included a practice’s strategic focus, client orientation and business prospects.
