
Gleiss Lutz has advised Mitel Europe Ltd. on the German law aspects of the restructuring of the Mitel Group.
The Mitel Group is a leading global provider of IP telephony, voice and data communications with a listed parent company in North America. The German Unify Group has been part of the Mitel Group since the end of 2023. The financial restructuring of the Mitel Group is being carried out in proceedings under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. In these proceedings, Mitel's capital structure shall be optimized by reducing its debt by around USD 1.15 billion and creating the basis for the successful continuation of the group.
In addition, new financing will be made available to the group. Gleiss Lutz advised Mitel in connection with this financial restructuring and also on issues relating to the operational restructuring of the German part of the group.
