Gleiss Lutz advises SBI Group on investment in fintech firm Pliant

​Gleiss Lutz has advised Japan's SBI Group on its investment in Berlin-based fintech startup Pliant through its venture capital arm SBI Investment. SBI Investment led a Series A financing round that saw Pliant raise a total of USD 28 million.

Pliant is a digital, B2B corporate credit card platform that enables companies to optimise their payment processes by seamlessly integrating virtual and physical credit cards into their existing accounting and travel expense tools and processes.

SBI Investment is one of the leading fintech investors in Japan and is the core company in SBI Group's asset management business. Since its establishment, SBI Investment has focused on investments in growth sectors such as information technology, biotechnology, and life science.
