Gleiss Lutz confirms managing partners and elects new partnership council chairman

Gleiss Lutz’s partners’ meeting has confirmed Prof. Michael Arnold and Dr. Alexander Schwarz as co-managing partners for a further term of two years. Dr Christian Cascante will take over chairmanship of the partnership council on 1 January 2020.

“We are delighted that the firm has placed its trust in us”, commented Dr. Alexander Schwarz. “In our second term, we will focus on improving cross-practice cooperation throughout the firm.” Prof. Michael Arnold explained: “Our goal is to be able to handle complex projects even more efficiently, thereby strengthening our position as one of Germany’s leading international law firms – for clients, against competitors, and for young talent”.

Prof. Michael Arnold and Dr. Alexander Schwarz became co-managing partners in 2016 – the first time that the firm had a dual-leadership structure – taking over from Dr. Rainer Loges, who had led the firm since 2008. Prof. Michael Arnold joined Gleiss Lutz’s Stuttgart office in 1999, where he has since advised clients on stock corporation law and corporate litigation. He became a partner in 2004. M&A partner Dr. Alexander Schwarz joined Gleiss Lutz in 1998, and became a partner in 2003. He helped establish the firm’s Düsseldorf office as a founding partner, and has been responsible for human resources at Gleiss Lutz since 2011.

Dr. Christian Cascante was elected chairman of the partnership council as successor to Dr. Wolfgang Bosch. His term will last two years. Christian Cascante has been a partner at Gleiss Lutz since 2003 and has led Corporate/M&A since 2013. He works from the Frankfurt and Stuttgart offices.
