The Execution of Arbitral Awards

​Leading European lawfirms Chiomenti, Cuatrecasas, Gide, Gleiss Lutz and Houthoff came together in London to deliver their combined cross-jurisdictional views andexperience in relation to the recognition, enforcement and execution ofarbitral awards.

The event comprised two panels, one on the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, which included a comparative discussion on the challenges and obstacles to recognition and enforcement, mentioning the issues arising out the Achmea decision, amongst others. The second panel focused on the execution of arbitral awards and included a discussion on how to seize assets, interim measures, and the impact of sovereign immunities and sanctions on seizing assets.
