He studied philosophy and law in Munich and Constance. Achim Dannecker was a government councillor in the tax administration and worked for an international law firm in London. He has been an attorney since 1998 and a partner at Gleiss Lutz since 2003.
He is an honorary professor at the University of Heidelberg and a member of numerous committees and organizations, including the Fachinstitut der Steuerberater (Düsseldorf), and deputy chairman of the Bundesfachkommission Steuern des Wirtschaftsrats.
