Gleiss Lutz advised Sopra Steria SE on the planned acquisition of it-economics GmbH

Gleiss Lutz advised Sopra Steria SE, Hamburg, on the planned acquisition of all of the shares in it-economics GmbH, Munich. The acquisition is subject to the customary closing conditions and in particular requires clearance by the German Federal Cartel Office. Both sides have agreed not to disclose any details of the transaction.

Sopra Steria is a leading European digital transformation provider. With 42,000 employees in over 20 countries, it achieved a turnover of EUR 3.8 billion in 2017. The ultimate parent company Sopra Steria Group S.A. is listed on Euronext Paris.

it-economics specialises in digital transformation, agile development and coaching and cloud services, as well as the management of complex, large-scale IT projects. The company was formed in 2003 and achieved an estimated turnover of EUR 20 million in 2017.

A Gleiss Lutz team headed by the partner Dr. Cornelius Götze had advised Sopra Steria SE previously on its recent takeover of Bluecarat AG, Cologne. Together with Dr. Thomas Winzer (partner) and Dr. Tobias Abend (both employment, both Frankfurt), he additionally advised the company on its change in legal form to a Societas Europaea (SE), which was completed in the spring of 2018.
