Gleiss Lutz advised the shareholders of Bonner Zeitungsdruckerei und Verlagsanstalt H. Neusser on the sale of their business to Rheinische Post Mediengruppe

The shareholders of Bonner Zeitungsdruckerei und Verlagsanstalt H. Neusser GmbH have concluded a contract on the sale of their shares with Rheinische Post Mediengruppe in Düsseldorf. The transaction is still subject to clearance by the Federal Cartel Office. The parties have agreed not to disclose any details of the transaction.

In addition to the renowned Bonn-based General-Anzeiger, the daily newspaper with the largest circulation in Bonn and the Rhine-Sieg district, the Group has a stake in a number of other media and media companies, including other leading weekly regional newspapers. The General-Anzeiger Group is also a shareholder in Radio Bonn/Rhine-Sieg, the leading radio station in the region, and has also been operating a successful online portal since 1997. The publishing house, established in 1725 and owned by seven generations of the same family, today has around 300 employees.

Rheinische Post Mediengruppe publishes the daily newspaper with the largest circulation in the Rhineland, the Rheinische Post, and is one of the top five newspaper publishers in Germany in terms of circulation. Rheinische Post Mediengruppe's RP Online is one of the news portals in Germany with the greatest reach. The company also has holdings in 17 radio stations and seven German advertising paper publishing houses. The media group generates turnover of around EUR 700 million p.a. and has more than 5,000 employees in Germany and abroad.
