Gleiss Lutz advises Sumitomo on the acquisition of Bayer's Metribuzin Solo business in Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Canada

Gleiss Lutz has advised Japanese Sumitomo Corporation on the acquisition of Bayer AG's Metribuzin Solo business in Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Canada. Metribuzin Solo is a plant protection herbicide. Around 75 percent of global usage is linked to the cultivation of soybeans, potatoes, and sugar cane. 

According to the agreement, the Metribuzin Solo business, including associated trademark rights, product approvals, inventories, sales contracts, and technical know-how, will be acquired by Summit Agro, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation.
