Julia advises primarily on German and European healthcare law and provides legal advice especially on statutory health insurance, medical devices, drugs and physicians.
Julia studied in Hamburg, Stellenbosch (South Africa) and Washington, D.C. (LL.M. 2014, Global Health Law, Georgetown University). During her studies, she was awarded fellowships by the German Foreign Exchange Service, the German Academic Scholarship Foundation as well as Georgetown University. From 2012 to 2013, she worked at the Institute for German, European and International Medical Law, Public Health Law and Bioethics (IMGB). Her dissertation was supported by the FAZIT foundation and nominated for the “Deutsche Studienpreis” by the Körber Foundation. During her legal clerkship she worked at, inter alia, the German Federal Ministry of Health, as well as for a barrister in Wellington, New Zealand. Julia has been with Gleiss Lutz since 2018.
