Gleiss Lutz advised Siris Capital Group, LLC (“Siris Capital”) on the sale of Xura Secure Communications GmbH to the Swedish company CLX Communications. The transaction was closed on 16 February 2017. Xura Secure Communications GmbH is a subsidiary of Xura, Inc., a leading provider of digital communication services which Siris Capital had taken over in August 2016.
Siris Capital is an American private equity firm based in New York City. Founded in 2011, it focuses on investments in technology corporations, technology-based service companies and corporations providing data services and telecommunications.
Xura, Inc. offers a broad portfolio of digital service solutions to communication service providers which enable global communication across a variety of mobile devices and platforms. Globally, Xura reaches three billion end-customers in over 140 countries. With its Communication Division, the German Xura Secure Communications GmbH focuses on secure communications by means of SMS and IP messages, as well as voice and video, in particular for online banking. The messaging business area offers a solution for the bulk sending and receipt of short messages.
