Gleiss Lutz advises A.T.U on restructuring and conclusion of lease agreements – paving the way for takeover by French investor

Gleiss Lutz has been advising A.T.U Auto-Teile-Unger since May of this year on the successful restructuring, negotiations with lessors and preparation of the takeover by the French Mobivia Group. Already in September 2016 Mobivia concluded a purchase agreement on the acquisition of A.T.U. A key factor for the restructuring process and also a precondition for the completion of the purchase agreement with Mobivia was the conclusion of new lease agreements with A.T.U’s main lessor at significantly improved terms and conditions. The difficult negotiations were successfully completed with the help of Gleiss Lutz, paving the way for closing of the deal with Mobivia. The transaction is scheduled to be completed in December 2016.

Gleiss Lutz not only advised A.T.U extensively on the successful negotiation of new leases, but also on numerous restructuring issues as well as on associated banking and finance, corporate law and insolvency related topics.

A.T.U is being advised by the following Gleiss Lutz team: Dr. Andreas Spahlinger (lead, partner), Dr. Matthias Tresselt (partner) (both Stuttgart), Dr. Alexander Nagel (Düsseldorf), Sonja Miletzki, Britta Kamp (both Stuttgart) (all restructuring/insolvency), Dr. Helge Kortz (partner), Dr. Jan-Alexander Lange (both banking and finance, Frankfurt), Dr. Tim Weber (partner, Frankfurt), Dr. Johannes Niewerth (partner, Berlin) (both real estate/leases), Peter Steffen Carl (partner), Dr. Tobias Harzenetter, Dr. Stephan V.
