Gleiss Lutz advises on the restructuring of Kemira

Gleiss Lutz advised the Finnish chemicals company Kemira on the implementation of an extensive restructuring project.  

The realignment of the organisational and sales structures throughout Europe under the name “New Business Model” involved, among other things, separating the “Production” and “Sales & Applications” business divisions and realigning the structures of the intra-group contracts with the German subsidiaries Kemira Germany GmbH and Kemira Germany Sales GmbH. In addition, the entire “Sales & Applications” business division, which has three sites in Germany alone, was transferred to Kemira Germany Sales GmbH.  

Kemira is a global chemicals company headquartered in Helsinki. It specialises in water quality and quantity management, systems to improve customers’ energy, water and raw materials efficiency and the supply of products used in pulp and papermaking processes. Last year Kemira generated revenues in excess of EUR 2.2 billion and currently employs more than 5000 employees worldwide.
