Chinese conglomerate Shandong Heavy Industry’s investment in German forklift manufacturer Kion has been named “Outbound M&A Deal of the Year” by the established China Business Law Journal. The deal, which is worth 738 million euros, is the largest direct investment from China into Germany to date.
A team of Gleiss Lutz lawyers led by partners Dr. Jan Bauer, Dr. Cornelia Topf and Dr. Christian Cascante (all M&A) as well as Dr. Cornelius Götze and Dr. Burkard Göpfert (spin-off of Kion’s hydraulics business) advised both Kion and shareholders KKR and Goldman Sachs on the transaction.
