Expertise

Simon specialises in commercial contracts, liability law and dispute resolution. His practice is centred around the drafting of contracts and the optimisation of – in particular, cross-border – supply chains and distribution structures for industry and trade (focus: automotive) and related court proceedings. A further focus is the litigation and structuring of complex liability and damages proceedings (especially product liability and antitrust damages). He is particularly active in advising on ESG matters and the Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains.

Vita

Simon studied at the University of Constance and was awarded a scholarship by the German National Academic Foundation. He received his PhD in 2007. He joined Gleiss Lutz in 2011. From 2014-2015 Simon worked at an American law firm specialising in technology law and product liability. From 2008 to 2011 he worked as a judge in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg at various civil courts and as a public prosecutor in Stuttgart specialising in “white collar crime”. Simon is a bar-certified specialist for international business law. Simon is an examiner in the First Legal Exam and the Second Legal State Exam of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

Simon speaks German and English.
