At this year’s Benchmark Litigation Europe Awards Gleiss Lutz’s acclaimed litigation practice took home two awards in the category “Firm of the Year – Germany”. Gleiss Lutz’s antitrust and litigation practices received the award for “Impact Case of the Year – Daimler” for their Europe-wide defence of Daimler in connection with the trucks cartel.
2019 marks the first time Benchmark Litigation has hosted the European Awards; in North America, the Benchmark Litigation Awards are a well-established industry fixture. In the US, such prestigious names as Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Paul Weiss or Simpson Thacher were honoured in 2019.
Now in its 12th year of publication, Benchmark initially covered only the US market. Meanwhile Benchmark extends to Canada, Latin America and, since 2018, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Ranking focusses solely on litigation and only includes the leading law firms in these regions. The current Europe ranking lists Gleiss Lutz in tier one of the three categories Commercial and Transactions, Competition/Antitrust and International Arbitration. Rankings and awards are based on editorial research and interviews of 1,534 clients across Europe as well as comprehensive peer review.
