Volkswagen AG and Ford Motor Company today announced the conclusion of initial agreements regarding a large-scale alliance. Gleiss Lutz advised the supervisory board of Volkswagen AG on the agreements.
In a first step, the two companies plan to collaborate on developing commercial vans and mid-sized pick-ups for the global market from 2022 onwards. The alliance will help the companies leverage significant economies of scale and efficiency gains. The parties have also agreed to expand their cooperation to other areas.
