- Niels’ practice focuses on IP and regulatory matters with a particular emphasis on the media and communication industries as well as the food sector. Niels specialises in unfair competition, copyright, trademark and media law, including relevant EU and regulatory issues related to these industries.
- Niels studied law at the University of Bochum and at Columbia Law School (LL.M. 2009) and journalism at the universities of Bordeaux and Dortmund (M.A. in journalism, 2004). He has been with Gleiss Lutz since 2009. Niels worked with a law firm focussed on the media sector from 2006 to 2008, as a journalist with Germany’s public service global broadcaster from 1998 to1999 and as a freelancer with national newspapers. He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR). Niels speaks German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.
