- Rainer specialises in German and EU antitrust law. He is recognised as one of the leading lawyers on merger control proceedings and has been involved in some of the most significant cases before the German Federal Cartel Office and the Commission of the European Union.
- Rainer studied in Freiburg, Berlin und Besançon/France. He has been a partner at Gleiss Lutz since 1974. He has lectured on European and German business law at the University of Würzburg since 1991. He started his career as a corporate counsel from 1970 to 1972. Rainer is a honorary member of the Association for the Study of Antitrust Law. He speaks German, English and French.
