- Ulrich has comprehensive experience in European regional development, construction, planning and environmental law. His sepcialties also include science law, civil service law and administrative reform issues (in particular organisation and human resources).
- Ulrich studied at the universities of Münster, Berlin, Tübingen and Speyer. Since 2009 he has been working as Of Counsel with Gleiss Lutz. Ulrich received his habitation in 1974 and worked at the University of Hamburg in 1976 and the Open University of Hagen in 1979, whose chancellor he was from 1984 to 1993. Since 1993 he has been a professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Ulrich was awarded with: German Construction Law Award, 1986; appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre Nationale du Mérite by the President of the French Republic, 1993; Honorary Doctorate, Law Faculty, Panteion University of Athens, 2001. He speaks German and English.
