Seit Jahren pflegt Gleiss Lutz enge Beziehungen zu verbundenen oder befreundeten Kanzleien im Ausland. Herbert Smith (Großbritannien), Stibbe (Belgien, Niederlande) sowie Cravath, Simpson Thacher und Paul Weiss (alle USA) gehören sämtlich zu den Spitzensozietäten ihrer Länder. Mit diesen Kanzleien unterhalten wir ständige Austauschprogramme für Juristen. Durch Arbeitsaufenthalte im Ausland erhöhen Sie Ihre Fachkompetenz und knüpfen ein persönliches Kontaktnetz. Unabhängig von solchen Auslandsaufenthalten laden wir unsere Mitarbeiter regelmäßig zu Veranstaltungen des "Alliance Academy"-Programms ein: an attraktiven in- und ausländischen Tagungsorten nehmen unsere Nachwuchsjuristen zusammen mit Kolleginnen und Kollegen von Herbert Smith und Stibbe an mehrtägigen Schulungsveranstaltungen zu aktuellen internationalen Rechtsthemen teil.

Comparative Law Training
30. November-1. Dezember 2006, Amsterdam

This course will provide an overview of the different fundamentals of the legal systems. It will use a case study of a cross-border transaction in the course of negotiation, involving all of the represented jurisdictions and the same transaction after it has completed and a dispute has arisen. Working in multi-jurisdiction teams, delegates will be exposed to comparative law and procedure in a context which will offer the maximum possible scope for professional relationship building.

   

Property finance
20.-21. Januar 2006, London

Representatives of the real estate, finance and tax departments from Herbert Smith, Gleiss Lutz and Stibbe examine the European legal market in the area of real estate finance and look at ways in which the alliance can best take advantage of the opportunities for work in the future and how they can best work together.

  

International arbitration
16.-17. Januar 2006

The course is run by Richard Butler, a commercial mediator and professor of dispute resolution at Nottingham Law School. The programme allows for case studies to be reviewed and presentations to be made both in short written form and orally to a mock tribunal. In addition, the course touches on the questions of ethics in international arbitration, ICC terms of reference, and procedural orders. The division between lecture and practical exercise makes the course both entertaining and useful.

  

Comparative law course
11.-12. November 2005, Berlin

Lawyers work in multi-jurisdictional teams on a case study dealing with comparative law issues in a cross-border joint venture agreement. They also consider issues regarding the choice of jurisdiction when the same joint venture agreement leads to cross-border litigation.
