Comparative Law Training This course will provide an overview of the different fundamentals of the legal systems. It will use a case study of a cross-border transaction in the course of negotiation, involving all of the represented jurisdictions and the same transaction after it has completed and a dispute has arisen. Working in multi-jurisdiction teams, delegates will be exposed to comparative law and procedure in a context which will offer the maximum possible scope for professional relationship building.

Property finance Representatives of the real estate, finance and tax departments from Herbert Smith, Gleiss Lutz and Stibbe examine the European legal market in the area of real estate finance and look at ways in which the alliance can best take advantage of the opportunities for work in the future and how they can best work together.
|
International arbitration The course is run by Richard Butler, a commercial mediator and professor of dispute resolution at Nottingham Law School. The programme allows for case studies to be reviewed and presentations to be made both in short written form and orally to a mock tribunal. In addition, the course touches on the questions of ethics in international arbitration, ICC terms of reference, and procedural orders. The division between lecture and practical exercise makes the course both entertaining and useful.
