Since 1990, Gleiss Lutz has been assisting investors in the reforming states of central and Eastern Europe. Our associated office in Prague supports with approximately 20 German, Czech and Slovakian lawyers mainly international companies in all areas of business law, in particular on purchases of companies that take place as part of cross-border transactions.

The lawyers possess extensive experience in setting up joint ventures between foreign and Czech/Slovakian companies, as well as in the formulation of joint-venture contracts. In corporate law, transformations and restructurings also number among the areas of activity. A specialised team advises on all relevant legal aspects of the acquisition and construction of real estate. This team has particular expertise in the area of real estate financing, including real estate leasing.

In the area of banking and capital markets law, our associated office advises regarding the structuring of all types of financing, as well as on all questions of banking law. A further emphasis is telecommunications and information technology. Moreover, specialised lawyers work in the areas of antitrust law, intellectual property, labour law and public/administrative law, and handle litigation before courts and arbitral tribunals.

Legal advice is given in German, English, Czech and Slovakian – a decisive factor for successful communication with business partners, local authorities and courts.
